Disneyland Deals and Nightastic, but No Official World of Color Date

Disneyland has released information about this summer’s nighttime shows as well as some package deals offering free lodging nights and theme park tickets, but the park is staying mum about when it will launch the highly anticipated World of Color evening show — part of the Disney’s California Adventure expansion. While there has been some confusion as to whether June 11th is the official start date, Disney has removed that date from a recent press release.

Miley Cyrus Will “Rejoice” When Hannah Montana is Over

“I’m feeling claustrophobic in all these frills,” is one of Miley Cyrus’ complaints about her alter-ego character, Hannah Montana. Cyrus goes as far as to say that she’ll “rejoice” when she finally gets to shed the character she’s played since she was 12 years old.
Currently filming the fourth and final season of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, the show that made her famous, Cyrus says playing the character makes her “grit” her teeth. A major problem for Cyrus is the branding of the character, which makes her feel as though she’s …

Top High Speed Train Makers Aim at Disney

Top high speed train (or bullet train) makers from China and Japan are giving serious consideration to having Walt Disney World one of their stops, and Disney is behind it.
The New York Times is reporting that, “Central Japan Railway and China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock are competing for the $8 billion that President Barack Obama has granted for 13 high-speed corridors across the United States, including a line between Tampa and Orlando in Florida that may include a station at the Walt Disney resort near Orlando.”

Tron Monorail Videos: Updated

Videos are beginning to leak of the brand new Tron-o-rails in Disney World. Currently, the blue Tron monorail is running on the Epcot line. You can see official, fan, and cast members videos here:

Star Wars Weekends 2010 Celebrities Announced

Have you ever run into Darth Vader by the popcorn stand or been kept out of a theme park by an army of storm troopers?
Get ready! Star Wars Weekends are just around the corner at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios! The annual event in Florida celebrates the Star Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars films. Jason Segel to Star in Muppet Movie

Exciting news on the Best Muppet Movie Ever Made front: Jason Segel is on board as the live-action star of the film!
This news comes on the heels of other prime information, including the fact the “The Flight of the Conchords’” James Bobin will direct the film and that Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller will be scripting the movie.
You’ve seen Judd Apatow darling Jason Segel work with puppets before in his “inspired” dracula theater piece in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, so let’s hope the inspiration continues!

Captain EO Pin Coming To Disneyland

For all of you Michael Jackson and Captain EO fans, a new trading pin is going to arrive very soon in Disneyland to commemorate the re-opening of the popular 3D film!
Julie Young, a developer of open-edition pins for the Walt Disney Company, has just received artwork for the pin and said the pin itself will arrive at Disneyland Park in early May.

Old Alice Likes New Alice

Last weekend, Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” had enormous results at the box office with 3-D shows increasing them further, but what did the original voice of Alice think about the film?
Kathryn Beaumont, at the age of 10, was both the voice and model for Alice in the Disney classic, “Alice in Wonderland.”  59 years later, Beaumont watched Tim Burton’s rendition of the movie she played the lead role in over half a century ago.  According the Orange County Register she enjoyed it:
