These are the most exciting posts for us — Easter Eggs. Pixar’s “Easter Eggs” are the little “inside jokes” and hidden references that Pixar animators and producers drop into their films. These often reference other Pixar films, or touch on the history of the studio.

Spider-Man’s Sam Raimi has been confirmed as the director of Disney’s upcoming Wizard of Oz prequel, currently being titled Oz: The Great and Powerful and slated for 2013.

Last fall Disney announced that the “Star Tours” attraction in both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World were going to close this summer and undergo some needed updates. Back on May 23rd we reported about the birth of a baby elephant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a beautiful baby girl. Luna, now almost one month old, is taking her first steps into the Kilimanjaro Safaris Savannah. Luna has a lot of adapting and learning to do and Disney is taking every precaution to foster her health and well-being.

At the blue carpet premier event for Disney’s highly-anticipated “World of Color” show in California Adventure Geoff Boucher, “Los Angeles Times” Entertainment blogger, asked Disney President & CEO Bob Iger if guests were going to see Marvel characters in the Disney Parks anytime soon. Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is set to host the 3rd annual “Expedition Everest Challenge;” a night-time competitive race on Saturday, June 12th. Groups of two competitors, and solo racers, will challenge themselves to finish a 5K through the park, complete a climb-crawl obstacle course, and finish with a scavenger hunt. In addition to the adult challenge, there will be a special children’s race at 7:30 p.m. for young adventurers.

Disney Design Group artists, Costa Alavezos, Brian Blackmore and Darren Wilson have been involved in multiple projects this year for Disney’s galactic “Star Wars Weekends” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park. One of the projects includes some special limited edition art items created to pay tribute to “Star Wars Weekends” & it’s beloved characters. On Saturday June 12th, the “Animation Gallery” in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be hosting a signing event with the artists.
