Update: Tokyo Disneyland Resort

Tokyo Disneyland Resort, including the Parks Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySEA, will remain closed until further notice.
The company resumed operations of its administrative offices within the country of Japan last week.  But even though a major inspection of the parks and other guest areas showed that that structures sustained little to no damage, parking lots, which are built on landfills, didn’t fare so well, as they underwent a process called soil liquefaction, a phenomenon caused by the earthquake’s extreme shaking, which causes saturated soil to behave like liquid.  Sporadic power outages …

Marvel Releases ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Theatrical Trailer

Thanks to Blue Sky Disney for the heads up that Marvel released its extended theatrical trailer for “Captain America:  The First Avenger” last week.  This spot is set to debut this weekend in theaters with the film “Sucker Punch.”
After viewing the trailer, and with not so much as one single read of a Captain America comic book, may I just say….whoa.
Stylistic, beautifully shot, and true to the era that it is set in (World War II, 1940s), if the film is half as good as the trailer, it will be …

Steve Jobs Re-Elected to Disney Board

Despite the opinions of the advisory firm Glass Lewis & Co., Disney shareholders re-elected Steve Jobs to the board on Wednesday – even though he has missed about 75% of the meetings last year.
Jobs’ absences from most of the meetings are allegedly due to an illness that also had him take a leave of absence as CEO of Apple.
Even though the advisory firm recommended Jobs not be re-elected, the Disney shareholders reinstated him at their annual meeting in Salt Lake City, as well as re-electing the company’s 12 other nominees.
The meeting …

New Addition Planned for Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian

Plans for an addition to Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa have been filed with the South Florida Water Management District.
Discussions about the addition quickly popped up on Disney fan forums and websites all over the internet, but Disney has declined to speak about this specific project – or even give a timetable as to the construction of the six to seven story, T-shaped building that will be connected via a walkway to the main Grand Floridian.
Spokesman Bryan Malenius had this to say about the addition:
