2013 Walt Disney World Marathon Officially Sells Out

Runners who have not registered for the Walt Disney World Marathon this January may be out of luck, as Disney announced this week that the popular race has officially sold out. Over 25,000 runners have registered for the 26.2 mile race, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The marathon sold out just five months after registration opened for the event, which is one of the quickest sell outs in the event’s history. Runners can still register for the race by going through groups with reserved entries, such as the Runner’s World Challenge package and Team in Training.

To commemorate the event’s 20th anniversary, the 2013 Walt Disney World Marathon will include some new special features, including a new Mickey Mouse medal, a post-race party at Downtown Disney, celebrity runners, and new additions to the course, which will now travel through the Walt Disney World Speedway and the Champion Stadium ballpark.

There are still a limited number of spots available for other races during the 2013 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, including the Disney Half Marathon and Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge. For more information, visit www.RunDisney.com.
