Walt Disney World Increases Cost of Theme Parks Tickets

The price of a one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom is now over the $100 mark for the first time ever.
Disney announced an increase in theme park ticket prices on February 21 and it was official on February 22. A one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom is now $105 plus tax.
A one-day ticket to the other three Disney World theme parks increased to $97 plus tax (up from the previous price of $94 plus tax).

Marvel and Disney Team Up to Create New Comic Book for Children’s Hospitals

Disney and Marvel have teamed up with Child Life Council to create a limited-edition comic book specifically for pediatric hospital patients.
This team effort is in honor of Compassion Month and the comic books are meant to provide the young patients with some entertainment to make their hospital stay less scary.
The story in the comic book features Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, and Falcon. The Avengers are assembling to battle an alien invader named Fin Fang Foom. The story was developed by writer Jim Zub and artist Wellington Alves.

runDisney Provides Preview of Finisher Medals for Tinker Bell Half Marathon

Disney recently released a sneak peek of the finisher medal from this year’s Tinker Bell Half Marathon presented by Pandora Jewelry.
The weekend’s races include the Tinker Bell Half Marathon, the Pixie Dust Challenge, the Tinker Bell 10K, the NeverLand Family Fun Run 5K, and the kids races.
This is the first year for the Pixie Dust Challenge which includes the 10K and the half marathon.

‘Frozen’ Characters Join Disney Cruise Line Guests for Port Adventure in Norway

When Disney Cruise Line stops in Alesund, Norway guests who go ashore for the port adventure will have a chance to meet Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff from the film Frozen.
This one-of-a-kind adventure takes place on the Norwegian fjord sailings this summer.
The port adventure starts in a country village that is home to the outdoor Sunnamore Museum where guests are invited to a Norwegian summer celebration that includes the arrival of Anna and Elsa.

More Details Announced for 2015 ‘Star Wars’ Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The 2015 Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios kicks off May 15 and runs every weekend through June 15 and we have some new details about this fan-favorite event.
James Taylor Arnold, the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is back this year, hosting the Stars of the Saga talk show in the Theater of the Stars on Hollywood Boulevard.
This year also marks a new location for Darth’s Mall – it’ll be located in a new area near Streets of America.

Menu Details Announced for Outdoor Kitchens at Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

With a little more than two weeks until the 2015 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival opens, we finally have some news about the menus for the Outdoor Kitchens.
This year marks the third year that the Outdoor Kitchens have been part of the Flower and Garden festival  and our friends at the Disney Food Blog have a list of the 11 Outdoor Kitchens they’re expecting.

Winners Announced for Walt Disney Imagineering’s 2015 Imaginations Competition

Disney recently announced the winners of the Walt Disney Imagineering 2015 Imaginations design competition.
The winning team hails from Ringling College of Art & Design and their project was called “The New Orleans Double Rail.” The project was created as “a symbol of hope for a city whose greatest challenge is its location below sea level.”
Students in the competition were tasked to apply Disney magic to transportation within a major city. Six teams were chosen as finalists and visited Walt Disney Imagineering in California where they could meet with and work …

Disney Parks Guests Can Pose with an Oscar Statuette at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

For the first time ever, Disney Parks guests have a chance to get up close with an Oscar statuette at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
From now until February 22 guests can visit the ‘My Oscar Moment’ display inside The Magic of Disney Animation Building at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and have their photo taken with the Oscar.
Guests have a chance to walk the red carpet and stand next to the Oscar with the signature backdrop behind them.

Disney Consumer Products Unveil New Toy Line Based on ‘Miles from Tomorrowland’

Disney Junior’s newest animated series, Miles From Tomorrowland, recently debuted as one of the top cable television series for kids ages 2-8, and Disney Consumer Products is unveiling a new toy line inspired by the show.
