New Disney Gift Card Holiday Pin Series Launches at Disney Parks

Just in time for holiday shopping this year’s Disney Gift Card Holiday Pin Series has arrived at the Disney Parks.
The gift cards feature four different designs with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Pluto and each card costs $75.
The gift cards each come with a Disney Trading Pin and this year’s pins are shaped like gift boxes that were designed to reflect something iconic about the characters. The trading pins are only available with the gift cards.

Season of the Force at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Feature New Food and a Nightly Fireworks Display

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will celebrate the Season of the Force starting January 5, 2016.
And with this new celebration of all things Star Wars guests will have a chance to experience some out-of-this-galaxy fun.
Several of the new experiences are starting December 1 including the opening of the Star Wars Launch Bay and the updated Jedi Training Academy – Trials of the Temple.
The Launch Bay will also feature The Cantina which, according to Disney, is “inspired by the unsavory hives of scum and villainy” in the Star Wars universe.

ABC Family’s Pop Up Santa Initiative Returns for Second Year

For the second holiday season in a row, ABC Family’s Pop Up Santa Initiative is happening during the network’s 25 Days of Christmas programming event.
This season’s Pop Up Santa has partnered with Reddi-whip and will be traveling around the country with the Share The Joy food truck.
This year’s Pop Up Santa kicked off November 14 in New York City when the Share The Joy food truck appeared at Wollman Rink in Central Park serving up free hot chocolate and holiday treats topped with Reddi-wip.

Celebrate the Holidays at Disneyland in the Downtown Disney District

The Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort is ready to celebrate the holiday season.
Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink is returning again this year and will be located between the ESPN Zone and Earl of Sandwich.
The 50-by-90 foot ice rink features Frozen-themed décor and music in addition to a life-size figure of Olaf. The rink is open Mondays through Thursdays from 3-10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 2-11 p.m. Admission include skates and helmets.

If you’re lamenting the loss of The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights after this holiday season but you can’t make it to Disney World to see them one last time, don’t fret!

Season of the Force Now Happening at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Resort is now celebrating the Season of the Force.
This all-new Star Wars celebration features new guest experiences, specialty food, and much more.
The Star Wars Launch Bay has also opened and the area includes special character experiences with Darth Vader and Chewbacca, the Dark Side Gallery where authentic Stormtrooper gear is displayed, the Light Side Gallery with lightsabers and other Jedi gear, and the Starship Gallery where models of Star Wars starships are on display.

Exclusive Star Wars Imperial Meet and Greet Locations for Disney Visa Cardholders Coming to Disney Parks

The Force is strong with Disney Visa cardholders.
The Walt Disney Company and Chase Card Services recently announced that all-new exclusive Star Wars Imperial Meet ‘n Greet locations are coming soon to Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in conjunction with the new Star Wars Launch Bay exhibits.
The meet-and-greet location opened November 16 at the Star Wars Launch Bay in Disneyland. The meet-and-greet spot will be open daily from 4-8 p.m. and Disney Visa cardholders can show their Disney Visa credit card to enter.

Epcot’s ‘Captain EO’ to Close Forever on December 6 Making Way for New Pixar Experience

This time they mean it.
Captain EO, the long-running (and long-suffering) film starring Michael Jackson as the title character is finally closing at Epcot. For good this time.
The last time Captain EO “closed” was to make way for an Inside Out preview in May. Prior to that the Magic Eye Theater was being used for a sneak peek at Tomorrowland starring George Clooney.

New Colortopia Exhibit Opens in Epcot’s Innoventions Pavilion

A new exhibit sponsored by Glidden paint has opened in Epcot’s Innoventions pavilion in Future World.
The Colortopia exhibit gives guests the chance to explore color and the impact it has on the world around them. Guests can walk through three unique areas with interactive exhibits that bring life to color theory, and that explore the psychology of color and the perception of colors.
The hands-on activities show guests that color is more than visual – it’s also emotional.

Celebrate ‘The Good Dinosaur’ at Disney Springs November 21-22

The Good Dinosaur roars into theaters on November 25 but guests at the Walt Disney World Resort can celebrate the film a few days early at ‘The Good Dinosaur Weekend.’
This special event is taking place at Disney Springs in the Walt Disney World Resort and the Downtown Disney District in Disneyland on November 21-22.
The Good Dinosaur Weekend includes a live DJ and a Dinosaur Dance Party from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on both days. When the sun sets the party will feature meteor shower lighting effects.
