My Disney Experience App Updated

Disney’s My Disney Experience app has been updated and redesigned.
The updated app will make it easier for guests to plan their Disney vacations and continue to use the app throughout their trip.
The app now opens right to the park maps so guests can navigate their way to attractions, restaurants, and even the nearest restroom.
There’s a new section in the app – Spotlight – that highlights the newest experiences in the theme parks along with entertainment options.

Guests Can Purchase a Na’vi Translator in Pandora – The World of Avatar

When Pandora – The World of Avatar opens in May at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests will be able to purchase a Na’vi Translator to help them pronounce Na’vi words.
According to the backstory, the Na’vi translator was created by Alpha Centauri Expeditions founder Marshall Lamm and it is being marketed as a “helpful tool” for humans visiting Pandora.
The translator will allow guests to translate up to 90 Na’vi words with translation cards, and the device lights up at night which makes it “perfect for nighttime explorations,” according to Disney.

Several Preliminary Bands Announced for 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival

The 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival starts at the end of August this year and while we don’t have much information, we can share a few preliminary musical acts.
Our friends at Disney Food Blog shared a short list of performers that we can expect to see at this year’s Eat to the Beat concerts.
The bands that guests can expect so far are:

New Merchandise for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Coming to Disney Parks for Star Wars: Force For Change

The Disney Parks have once again partnered with Lucasfilm to sell specially designed products to support the Star Wars: Force For Change initiative that supports the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.
Force for Change “harnesses the strength of Star Wars to empower and improve the lives of children around the world.”
New items are arriving this spring at the Disney Parks in support of the initiative.
The merchandise includes T-shirts for adults and kids, plus a pin featuring the logo and characters from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Metal Detectors for Magic Kingdom Moved to Transportation and Ticket Center

The metal detectors that are currently located just outside the gates for the Magic Kingdom are on the move.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the metal detectors will be located at the Transportation and Ticket Center beginning next Monday.
Guests who drive to the Magic Kingdom and arrive at the TTC will go through the metal detectors prior to boarding the Monorail or ferry boat.
The guests who arrive to the Magic Kingdom via Monorail or ferry boat will not need to go through security once they reach the theme park. However, guests …

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Celebrating 20th Anniversary

The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex celebrated its 20th anniversary on March 28.
The anniversary was marked by a special on-field celebration during the Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles spring training game.
During the game former Cincinnati Bengals star Reggie Williams threw out the ceremonial first pitch and fans were able to purchase 20th anniversary merchandise.
The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex opened in 1997 and operates as a “multi-sport facility for professional, collegiate, and youth sports.”
The complex has hosted more than 3 million athletes including many professional athletes. Annually it …

Walt Disney World Resort Announces Three Summer Vacation Deals

If you’re planning a summer vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort you’ll want to check out the new summer vacation deals that were just announced.
The first vacation special gives guests the chance to save up to 25 percent off resort hotel rooms for most nights from May 28 through August 31.

New Animated Series, ‘Puppy Dog Pals,’ Coming to Disney Channel in April

A new animated series, Puppy Dog Pals, is set to debut on Disney Channel on April 14.
The new series was created by comedian Harland Williams and follows two pug brothers, Bingo and Rolly, with thrill-seeking appetites. Their adventures take them through their neighborhood and around the world.
The pugs’ owner Bob, his cat Hissy, and a “loveable robot” named A.R.F. are also part of the adventures in the show.
Each episode of Puppy Dog Pals will feature two 11-minute stories that “showcase Bingo and Rolly’s similarities and  differences while demonstrating positive lessons …

Disney Gives Preview of Theme Song for ‘Happily Ever After’ Nighttime Show

A new nighttime spectacular is coming to the Magic Kingdom on May 12 when ‘Happily Ever After’ debuts.
The new show is replacing fan-favorite Wishes, which will be shown for a final time on May 11.
Recently, Disney gave guests a preview of the new theme song for Happily Ever After, titled (what else?) “Happily Ever After.”
The song is performed by country music artist Angie Keilhauer and singer Jordan Fisher. Fans might recognize Fisher’s voice from the Moana soundtrack or the 2016-winter 2017 cast of Hamilton on Broadway.

Disneyland Paris Celebrating 25th Anniversary

Disneyland Paris is celebrating its 25th anniversary with new entertainment options, special merchandise, and even special food and drinks.
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue opened at the park 25 years ago and as part of the celebration it features a new experience, a new pilot, new characters, and 3D technology.
Guests will have a chance to meet Darth Vader every day at Disneyland Paris at a new area near Star Tours.
