Garden Rocks Concert Series Performers Announced for 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

The acts for the 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival’s Garden Rocks Concert Series have been announced.
The Garden Rocks Concert Series takes place Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights throughout the Festival.
The acts for 2018 are:

March 2-5: Night Ranger
March 9-12: STARSHIP starring Mickey Thomas
March 16-19: Simple Plan
March 23-26: Little River Band
March 30-April 2: The Orchestra starring former members of ELO

Two New Colors of MagicBands Coming to Disney World

Two new MagicBand colors are coming to Disney World!
The first new color – brown – debuted this week in a new Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs design. This new band retails for $22.99, features the Dwarfs and some “diamonds” from their mine, and is now available.
The other new color is pink – a “solid-color millennial pink” as Disney calls it – and this band will be available beginning January 8, 2018.
The pink MagicBand will retail for $12.99.
The two new colors join the black MagicBand that debuted last month.

New Cirque du Soleil Show Coming to Disney World

La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil is ending on December 31 after nearly two decades of performances, but a new Cirque show is in the works for the Walt Disney World Resort.
The new, as-yet-untitled show “will pay homage to Disney’s rich history of animation” according to a statement from Disney.
Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group said, “We are convinced that bringing Disney’s magic to life on stage will touch audiences and bring them back to their childhood.”

New Benefits Coming to Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels in 2018

Beginning in January 2018, guests at the Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels will be able to take advantage of several new benefits as hotel guests at the Disney World theme parks.
Guests will be able to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours at the theme parks for all of 2018.
Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels guests will also be able to link their reservations to My Disney Experience as of January 10, 2018. In order to take advantage of this benefit guests must have booked a Walt Disney Travel Company package …

Hall of Presidents Reopens at the Magic Kingdom

The Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom will officially reopen today at the Magic Kingdom.
The popular attraction closed last year after the 2016 Presidential Election so that it could be updated with an animatroinic figure of Donald Trump.
In addition to updating the show – with a recording by Trump – Imagineers have also “incorporated the latest in theatrical design and Audio-Animatronics technology” according to Disney.
The show will feature landmarks in American history on a panoramic 180-degree screen and guests will also enjoy high-impact projection, sound, and lighting.

Disney Reveals Finisher Medals for 2018 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

The 2018 Disney Princess Half Marathon is the 10th anniversary of the popular race weekend and Disney has revealed the finisher medals for the races.
The Disney Princess 5K finisher medal features Rapunzel from the animated film Tangled.
The 10K finisher medal features Merida from Brave, with a Celtic design on the medal.
Finishers of the Disney Princess Half Marathon will receive a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs-inspired medal that resembles a ruby red apple.

Disney Gives Sneak Peek at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

During last weekend’s Star Wars: Galactic Nights event Disney gave guests a sneak peek at the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
In the new land guests will have a chance to actually climb on board the Millennium Falcon and walk through the hallways and sit in the cockpit.
Disney also announced that they are building a fleet of X-wing fighters for the new land.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Walt Disney World

The Walt Disney World Resort has several special events planned to help guests ring in the New Year!
The Magic Kingdom is celebrating with fireworks on December 30 and 31. The Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks will begin each night at 11:50 p.m. Guests can also enjoy dance parties in Frontierland and Tomorrowland. Park hours on December 30 and 31 are 8 a.m. until 1 a.m.
At Epcot guests can make reservations for a New Year’s Eve dinner at World Showplace, take part in New Year’s Eve dance parties at various locations …

Disney Gives Preview of Pixar Pier Coming to Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure will be home to the new Pixar Pier in the summer of 2018 and Disney is giving guests a preview of what’s to come.
Pixar Pier will be home to “whimsical” neighborhoods and fan favorite Pixar characters from popular films.
The area will also include re-themed attractions, new food and merchandise, and the neighborhoods will be inspired by Pixar films, including The Incredibles.
That neighborhood will feature the Incredicoaster and the loading area for the coaster will be inspired by the Parr family’s home from the film.

The Walt Disney Company Acquires 21st Century Fox

The Walt Disney Company has acquired 21st Century Fox including Twentieth Century Fox Film and Television studios for approximately $52.4 billion in stock.
The deal does not include Fox Broadcasting network and stations, Fox News, Fox Business, FS1, FS2 and Big Ten Network, which will be spun off to Fox shareholders.
Several entertainment properties including X-Men, The Simpsons, FX Networks, and National Geographic will now be part of Disney’s portfolio.
