Belgian Ice Sculpture Festival Celebrates a Disney ‘Enchanted Christmas’

Fans of Disney Parks may want to make their way to Bruges, Belgium, now through January 12, 2012 to take in the truly spectacular Tenth International Snow and Ice Sculpture Festival.

More than 30 ice and snow sculpture artists from all over the world assembled in the Belgian city, famous for its medieval landmarks, to create a spectacular array of Disney-inspired ice art, which celebrates many of the most beloved attractions at Disneyland Paris.  Dubbed “Ice Wonderland”, the wonderful collection includes almost 100 different figures, from fairytale scenes (Prince Philip challenging the Maleficant Dragon from Sleeping Beauty) to playful mazes (Alice in Wonderland) to more current favorites, like Toy Story characters and Disney’s latest princess, Rapunzel.  The artists also paid homage to Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse with an ice rendition of the beloved “Partners” statue, shown above.
