Former Disney Executive Sues Walt Disney Studios

Glen Lajeski, a former executive vice president with Walt Disney Studios, was fired by the company in June. Now, Lajeski is suing the company saying that his contract was breached.
According to the lawsuit, Lajeski was fired around June 15, “without specifying any cause for the termination and providing no opportunity to cure.” The lawsuit also explains that Lajeski’s contract was not set to expire until 2013.

No Representative of Jobs Estate Will Serve on Disney Board

Sources have reported that no representative for the estate of the late Steve Jobs will serve on the Walt Disney Company’s board of directors.
Despite the fact that the estate is Disney’s largest shareholder, with 7.7 percent of the company’s common stock, papers filed by Disney last Friday say that no one will be serving on the board on Jobs’ behalf. His widow is not a candidate, nor are any other representatives of the estate. As of this writing, no word has been heard from Disney about this news.

Transition Relationship of SOAPnet and Disney Junior Further Clarified

Many fans of SOAPnet have recently been concerned over the news that one of their favorite channels would abruptly stop broadcasting its usual programming on March 23, as it made way for the brand new Disney Junior channel.  However, sources from SOAPnet have reached out to DisZine to explain that the transition would be more gradual.
While SOAPnet will eventually go away, there will be no “hard stop” to its broadcasts.  Rather, SOAPnet and Disney Junior will run concurrently for a period of transition.  More information was shared in this article …

Woman Brings Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against The Walt Disney Company

Kellie Rodriguez, who attended a 2011 taping of Disney’s popular sitcom Good Luck Charlie, is suing the Walt Disney Company for the alleged sexual misconduct that took place during the taping.
According to the lawsuit, Rodriguez was subjected to lewd and inappropriate acts at the hands of crowd entertainer Ron Pearson. Rodriguez, along with two other audience members, were chosen by Pearson to participate in a contest that involved a “silly dance” to The Village People tune “YMCA.” However, Rodriguez claims the “silly dance” was anything but silly. Disney CEO Bob Iger Earned 12 Percent More Money in 2011

In a regulatory filing on Friday, Disney disclosed their CEO’s and other top executives salaries. Disney CEO Bob Iger reportedly earned a 12 percent increase in salary in 2011 compared to the previous year, and a whopping 45% increase compared to his earnings in 2009, making his total earnings for 2011 $31.4 million.
Other top executives earnings were also filed. Jay Rasulo, Disney’s CFO, earned $9.9 million, while general counsel and senior executive vice president Alan Braverman made $6.9 million. Jayne Parker, executive vice president and chief human resources officer also …

Disney Fantasy Heads Out to Sea for Sea Trials

Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, passed another important milestone Friday, as the ship headed toward the North Sea for a series of sea trials to test her seaworthiness.

Disney Store Announces New Stores, Expands to Twelve Countries in 2012

Disney English is hiring foreign trainers to teach English to children ages 2 to 12 living in China. The jobs have been advertised in newspapers and online, and the push to find trainers for this position coincides with Disney’s plans to open Shanghai Disneyland.
