ABC Set to Celebrate Mickey Mouse’s 90th Birthday with a Television Special

Mickey Mouse is celebrating his 90th birthday in November, and ABC Television is celebrating with a brand new special, Mickey’s 90th Spectacular.
The show will be broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and will include special performances and appearances by celebrities.
Mickey’s 90th Spectacular will air on Sunday, November 4 from 8-10 p.m. ET.
The show will be directed by Don Mischer with executive producers Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare.
Stay tuned for announcements regarding the special appearances and performances for this show that’s been 90 years in the making.

Disney World Set to Host the Kickoff of ABC’s ‘American Idol’ Nationwide Bus Tour Auditions

Disney World is hosting the kickoff for the American Idol nationwide bus tour auditions starting on August 25.
The bus tour starts at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
During the auditions at Disney World, Season 1 winner Maddie Poppe, runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson and finalist Catie Turner will make special appearances.
Registration for the auditions at the WWOS complex opens at 7 a.m. on August 25 and auditions start at 9 a.m., but early arrival is encouraged. Parking will open at 4 a.m.

Disney Springs is Home to ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Fun

Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp is in theaters now and guests visiting Disney Springs can get enjoy some movie-inspired fun.
Located just outside the AMC Disney Springs 24 Dine-In Theaters is a “wasp wing” photo opp where guests can stop and get a photo taken.
The wasp wings were created by artist Apexer and you can see a video of the artist at work here.
You’ll also want to stop by Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar to enjoy select menu items that have been shrunken down or made giant-size for a limited time.

Play Disney Parks App Debuts June 30 at Walt Disney World and Disneyland

The Play Disney Parks app is debuting this weekend – June 30 – at both Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resort.
The app is available now for pre-order at the App Store and Google Play.
When it goes live on June 30 guests at Disneyland and Disney World will “turn wait time into play time with all-new interactive experiences and activities created for select attraction queues.”
Attraction queue activities include: “Playset Party” for Toy Story Mania, “Off to Neverland” for Peter Pan’s Flight, “Rocket Race” in Space Mountain, and  “Andy’s Boardgame Blast” …

Check Out the New Play Disney Parks App Coming this Summer

The new Play Disney Parks app is coming this summer and Disney is giving guests a sneak preview of the app.
The app is currently available for pre-order at the App Store and Google Play.
According to Disney, the app “will allow guests to play with family and friends while waiting in line for some favorite attractions.” The app includes activities that interact with certain queues and games.

New Disney Junior Dance Party Coming to Hollywood Studios this Fall

There’s a new Disney Junior Dance Party coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this fall.
The Disney Junior Dance Party! is described as a “high energy live show experience that takes its inspiration from the most popular Disney Junior shows.”
Shows that inspired by the new dance party include Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Doc McStuffins, The Lion Guard, and Vampirina.
The new dance party is hosted by Finn Fiesta and a DJ named Deejay (natch).

New Play Disney Parks App Coming this Summer

A brand new, interactive Play Disney Parks app is coming to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland this summer.
The app – which will be available for iOS and Android – will allow guests to “play in the parks like never before,” according to Disney.
Guests will be able to use the app to access exclusive experiences at Disney World and Disneyland through activities that interact with the surrounding environment.

Lin-Manuel Miranda to Make ‘DuckTales’ Debut on Friday, May 11

Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to make his Duck Tales debut on Friday, May 11, on Disney Channel.
Miranda – the award-winning actor, playwright,  and composer – will star as the voice of Gizmoduck.
This character is described as “Duckburg’s preeminent hero who has Latin roots” by Disney and Miranda’s debut episode is titled “Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!”.
Duck Tales will air daily on Disney Channel starting Tuesday, May 1, with premieres every Friday in May.

D23′s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse Announced for November 17-18 at Disney World

D23′s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse is scheduled for November 17 and 18 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The event is described at the “the ultimate birthday celebration honoring 90 years of the mouse that started it all!.”
Destination D is open to D23 Gold Members and their families.

Disney Cruise Line Adds New Culinary Port Adventures

Disney Cruise Line has announced the addition of new culinary port adventures created with the cast of The Chew.
The cruise line is also creatin gnew Signature Collection Port Adventures that will feature recipes from The Chew that will be prepared by local chefs in Disney Cruise Line ports of call around the world.
The new adventures include culinary classes with chefs around the world, epicurean adventures that include enjoying a meal in ports of call, and a wine and dessert port adventure.
