Dr. Doofenshmirtz to Appear on ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’

The Sharks might have met their match. Next month’s season finale of ABC’s Shark Tank will feature everyone’s favorite evil inventor, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb.
Fans of Phineas and Ferb are familiar with Doofenshmirtz’s “inator” inventions – he builds at least one per episode as part of his ongoing plan to take over the tri-state area. And inevitably, his inventions always fail through self-destruction of some sort.

Disney XD’s ‘Crash & Bernstein’ Renewed for a Second Season

This week, Disney XD announced that its popular series Crash & Bernstein will be renewed for a second season. Production on the second season will begin in Van Nuys, CA this July, with the season premiere set for this fall.

Disney Channel to Bring Back Game Show ‘Win, Lose, or Draw’

Disney Channel will soon see the game show genre return to its lineup, as it was announced this week that the channel will debut a revised version of popular 1980′s game show Win, Lose, or Draw. Hosted by Cupcake Wars‘ Justin Willman, the new show will begin production in July and make its television debut later this year.

SEGA and Disney Interactive Announce Launch of ‘Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse’

Earlier this week SEGA and Disney Interactive announced the upcoming digital release of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. This game is a total re-imagining of the Genesis side-scrolling adventure that was originally released in 1990. The new game will be available for digital download later this summer on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox360, PlayStation Network and Windows PC.

Disney Interactive Introduces ‘Oh My Disney’ Blog

Disney’s social network is expanding once again. Last week Disney Interactive announced the launch of Oh My Disney (OMD), a new blog where classic Disney stories are being adapted for a digital audience.
Fans can already connect with the Disney brand via social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest. The OMD blog is  a mix of old and new content, and Disney Interactive says readers can expect to see opportunities for fan participation on the site and more blog-specific video.

Disney Channel Renews ‘Austin & Ally’ and ‘Jessie’ for Third Seasons

Fans of the hit Disney Channel shows Austin & Ally and Jessie received some good news last week, as Disney announced that both shows have been officially renewed for a third season.

Disney Shuts Down LucasArts

Following their recent acquisition of Lucasfilm, Disney announced this week that they will be closing the company’s video game division, LucasArts. Rather than producing games in-house, Disney will now instead be licensing the Star Wars properties, among others, to third-party game developers.

National Literacy Month Highlights: Disney VoluntEARS Read to Children and Ridley Pearson Book Signing

To help celebrate literacy during National Literacy Month / School Library Month, crew members from Disney Cruise ships visited and read to children in Nassau, Grand Cayman, and St. Thomas. This project was part of the Disney Reading Together program, which was started 10 years ago and has since promoted reading and literacy. Through the program, cast members visit schools to read to children, and more than 7,000 books have so far been given to communities in the Bahamas and the Caribbean through the program.

Disney and Lilly Diabetes Launch New Resource for Families on Type 1 Diabetes

Families who are affected by Type 1 Diabetes now have a new resource to turn to, thanks to a new initiative launched this week by Disney Interactive and Lilly Diabetes. The two companies have collaborated on a new online destination on Spoonful.com, Disney’s newest website for moms.
