While the details about the film pitch are sketchy right now, it has been described as an “emotional journey of a brother and sister as they undertake an epic adventure.”

20th Century Fox’s Chronicle has yet to even be released in theaters, but Landis already appears to be gaining some heat in Hollywood circles. In addition to his Chronicle writing and the sci-fi film pitch, he was also hired to pen a Frankenstein script for Fox as well as a fantasy thriller based on the Pied Piper.

When the film was being made, Tramp’s character went through several changes before evolving into the loveable rogue he eventually became. Because of this, the song “I’m Free” was dropped from the movie as it no longer seemed to fit in with the film.

The issue’s first story will examine the legacy of Walt Disney and his vision for his films. Famed animation historian and Academy Award winner John Canemaker will examine how Disney’s animated films have continued to raise the bar for animation, beginning with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. The magazine issue will also include:

• The Six Older Men: A revealing look at the rarely seen talented artists and illustrators who helped train Disney’s legendary “Nine Old Men”;
• Ralph’s Wrecking Crew: An early glimpse at the process of producing Wreck-It Ralph, the next feature film from Walt Disney Animation Studios;
• Ballyhoo and Buzz: A colorful look at some of Disney’s off-the-wall stunts for marketing new movies before the advent of broadcast and digital media;
• Striking the Right Chords: An exploration of the memorable music written for animated features, with insight from film historian Leonard Maltin;
• Still Soaring: A touching interview with talented artist Tyrus Wong, now 101 years old, who helped create the extraordinary look of Bambi;
• A Work of Art: An introduction to Disney’s Animation Research Library, home to 65 million individual pieces of original animation art.

The spring 2012 issue of Disney twenty-three magazine will be available nationwide beginning on February 14. The issue will retail for $15.95 at retail locations nationwide, along with DisneyStore.com and at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.  D23 Gold-level members will receive the magazine in early February, along with a limited edition replica animation cel from Snow White.

Fans of the highly anticipated film, Marvel’s The Avengers, can participate in the Q&A session by using the @Avengers handle and the #Avengers hashtag.  Participating fans will also have the opportunity to see 10 seconds of the upcoming 30 second teaser trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers, which will debut during the Super Bowl this February 5 on NBC.  International fans can also participate, and will have the chance to submit questions in their native language for translation, via Ortsbo.com.  Marvel’s @Agent_M will be the chat moderator.

Marvel’s The Avengers will unite superheroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow.  NickFury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. assembles the team to save the world from the brink of an evil disaster.  The film stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, and will feature Stellan Skarsgard and Samuel L. Jackson.  Marvel’s The Avengers will open in theatres May 4, 2012.

She plays Tara Adams, a shy high school student who secretly lets her rebellious persona show through when she begins hosting a nightly podcast where she plays music and empowers the other students with her messages to “be yourself.”

Eventually, Tara’s two lives collide and she is faced with the decision to reveal that she is Radio Rebel.

Originally intended to be Disney’s next hand-drawn animated film after The Princess and the Frog, animation fans held out hope that Frozen would remain a hand-drawn animated feature in its new form. However, according to slashfilm.com, Disney has confirmed that Frozen will, in fact, be a 3D computer animated feature, and be presented in theaters in stereoscopic 3D.

Little else is currently known about the film in its present state. Prior to The Snow Queen being put on hold in 2010, composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Tangled) was at work on composing new songs for the film, but it has yet to be confirmed whether or not he is still involved with the movie. Frozen will be released in theaters on November 27, 2013.

Unlike Carney, who many criticized for her lack of movie marketing experience, Strauss comes to the role with 25 years of experience in the film industry. Most recently, Strauss was President of Participant Media, who produced such films as The Help, Contagion, and The Kite Runner. Prior to that, Strauss worked at Sony Pictures for 16 years as a senior marketing executive for Columbia/Tristar Pictures, and later as Senior Vice President of Production. He also founded Ricochet Entertainment, where he served as executive producer on the Cameron Diaz film The Sweetest Thing.

In a statement, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios Rich Ross said:

“I am happy to welcome Ricky Strauss to The Walt Disney Studios family. With 25 years of industry experience, he brings a deep understanding of all aspects of the film business as well as incredible skill in branding and cutting-edge marketing. He will undoubtedly raise the Studios’ creative bar as we enter 2012 and look ahead at showcasing a spectacular slate of films to audiences around the world.”

In his new position, Strauss will oversee marketing for films released through Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, and Touchstone Pictures, which includes DreamWorks Studios films. Upcoming films for which Strauss will take on the marketing responsibilities for include John Carter, The Avengers, and Brave.
