Florida Resident ‘Discover Disney’ Tickets Available

Florida residents who want to check out everything that’s new at Disney World right now can purchase the Discover Disney ticket for just $175!
These tickets are valid for admission to one theme park per day and can be purchased now through June 27, 2019, and Florida Residents can visit any day through June 30, 2019.

“Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration” is Coming to Disneyland

A new celebration – Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration – is coming to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District this spring.
This new event will transport guests “through a visually and whimsically immersive experience celebrating 90 years of the one and only Mickey Mouse, and his darling, Minnie Mouse.”
The limited time exhibit in the Downtown Disney District will feature themed rooms with displays inspired by Mickey Mouse. The rooms will include “selfie-worthy surprises” for everyone.

Walt Disney Archives Founder Dave Smith Dies at Age 78

The Walt Disney Company has announced that Walt Disney Archive founder and Disney Legend Dave Smith died on February 15, 2019 at the age of 78.
Dave spent four decades working at The Walt Disney Company, preserving the history of Disney films, television, theme parks, and more.
In a statement, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said: “I’m deeply saddened to learn of Dave Smith’s passing. He was the unsung hero of Disney’s history who, as our first archivist, spent 40 years rescuing countless documents and artifacts from obscurity, investing endless hours …

Disneyland After Dark: Heroes Assemble Coming to Disney California Adventure

A new Disneyland After Dark event – Heroes Assemble – has been announced for Disney California Adventure.
The after-hours event will feature entertainment, character encounters, themed food, merchandise, and more — all themed to the popular super heroes.
Disneyland After Dark: Heroes Assemble will be held April   30 or May 1, 2019 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. each night. Guests can come dressed as their favorite super heroes.
Tickets go on sale February 19 for passholders and February 21 for the general public.

Menus Announced for the 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

The 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival kicks off March 6 and Disney has released all of the menus for the Outdoor Kitchens!
This year’s Festival will feature a record 17 Outdoor Kitchens plus several additional locations including Refreshment Port, Taste Track, and more.
New booths for 2019 include: Arbor at The Gardener’s Terrace, Flavor Full Kitchen, The Citrus Blossom, and Trowel & Trellis.
Returning favorites include The Smokehouse, Hanami, Bauernmarkt, La Isla Fresca, and more.

Three Artists to Be Featured at Disneyland’s WonderGround Gallery

WonderGround Gallery in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District is hosting three artists this month.
Gabby Zapada is the February Artist in Residence, and is a senior visual development artist for Disney Digital Network in Glendale. Guests can meet Gabby on February 9-10, 16-17, 23-24 from 5 – 9 p.m.
The Featured Artisan of the Month is Eunjung June Kim and her art will be showcased all month long. Guests can meet her February 16-17 and 23-24 from 1 – 4 p.m.

Mobile Order Update Coming to Disney World and Disneyland

Mobile Order – the popular system that allows guests to pre-order and pre-pay for food at quick service locations in Disney World and Disneyland – is getting a makeover.
According to Disney, the update to Mobile Order “features an easier navigation and improved design with fun, colorful icons, and even more photos of the menu items.”
The updated is currently available for Disneyland in the Disneyland app, and will be available soon for Disney World in the My Disney Experience app.

Check Out a Sneak Preview of ‘Dumbo’ at the Disney Parks This March

The new live-action Dumbo flies into theaters in late March, but guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disneyland, and even on the Disney Cruise Line will get a special sneak preview before that.
The extended sneak preview of Dumbo will be presented at the Main Street Opera House in Disneyland’s Town Square, and as part of the Walt Disney Presents attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Guests aboard Disney Cruise Line ships will also see the preview.

Disney Skyliner Testing Underway at the Walt Disney World Resort

Disney has begun initial testing on the gondolas for the Disney Skyliner transportation system.
The Disney Skyliner is slated to open this fall and will connect Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Pop Century, Art of Animation, Disney Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
The gondolas will feature characters from several popular Disney films including: Beauty & the Beast, Frozen, Lilo & Stitch, Moana, Peter Pan, The Princess and the Frog, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Zootopia.

Maleficent Dragon Float Returns to the Festival of Fantasy Parade in the Magic Kingdom

The Maleficent dragon float has returned to the Festival of Fantasy Parade in the Magic Kingdom.
The float was sidelined in May 2018 after catching fire during a parade.
The refurbished float still features the steampunk look of the previous float, but she’s been updated with some new features that will keep her “in check” during the parades.
To celebrate the return of the Maleficent dragon float, Disney has also brought back the Maleficent Waffle Cone at Storybook Treats in the Magic Kingdom.
