NBA Experience Coming to Disney Springs in 2019

Disney has given guests a sneak preview of the NBA Experience that is coming to Disney Springs in 2109.
The design of the new building is inspired by modern NBA stadiums around the country and creates “an unmistakable and entertaining connection to the NBA in a way that only Disney can” according to Disney.
The NBA Experience will include interactive games and competitions, immersive experiences for fans, a retail store, and a restaurant.

Columbia Sportswear at Disney Springs Adds to Midweek Magic for DVC Members

The Columbia Sportswear shop at Disney Springs is adding Midweek Magic for Disney Vacation Club members.
At the store, DVC members can get 10 percent off their purchase and they will also receive a complimentary Columbia mesh ball cap. This “Midweek Magic” is good on Friday, October 20 and Friday, October 27 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.
Other Midweek Magic deals for DVC members include:

Tickets On Sale Now for ‘Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire’ Hyper-Reality Experience

Tickets are on sale now for the new Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire hyper-reality experience.
This new experience debuts December 16 at Disney Springs and on January 5 at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District.
The hyper-reality experience is presented by ILMxLAB and The VOID and gives guests a chance to have a “multisensory experience” with friends and family.
In Secrets of the Empire, teams of four will “go undercover as stormtroopers to capture Imperial intelligence vital to the budding rebellion’s survival” according to the description provided by Disney.

Disney Gift Cards Feature New Halloween Designs

If you’re headed to the Disney Parks soon and you’re looking to pick up some Disney Gift Cards, there’s a new slate of Halloween designs for the cards.
The first design is a Not-So-Scary Pumpkin Mickey that pays homage to the Halloween decorations on Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland.

Disney Springs Ready to Celebrate Halloween

Halloween is in full swing at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World.
Guests can find the perfect Halloween costumes for all ages at Tren-D, The Dress Shop at Cherry Tree Lane, World of Disney, Super Hero Headquarters, and Star Wars Galactic Outpost.
There are several Halloween-themed photo backdrops around Disney Springs including a giant Mickey pumpkin. PhotoPass photographers will also be snapping photos throughout the season.

Disney PhotoPass Celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19

Tomorrow, September 19, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day and Disney PhotoPass is celebrating the holiday at Walt Disney World.
Guests can visit the PhotoPass photographer across from Pirates of the Caribbean in the Magic Kingdom for a Magic Shot photo between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
If you’re riding Pirates of the Caribbean (all year, not just on Talk Like a Pirate Day), you’ll have your image captured in true pirate style!

The Walt Disney World Resort Announces New and Returning Holiday Experiences for 2017

The holiday season at Walt Disney World kicks off in early November and Disney has started to announce what experiences and events guests can expect.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is adding some new holiday events to its lineup including Sunset Seasons Greetings with a new projection show, enhanced holiday décor around Echo Lake, the return of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! and the accompanying dessert party, Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine, and Santa Claus at the Once Upon a Time Shop.

Merchandise Collection for DVC Moonlight Magic Events

Disney Vacation Club members have been enjoying special “Moonlight Magic” events at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this month, and there’s a new merchandise slate to commemorate the events.
The Animal Kingdom events featured a new T-shirt with Pumba and a pin – both at the Discovery Trading Post.

Hurricane Irma’s Impact on the Walt Disney World Resort

Sunday night, Hurricane Irma took a somewhat unexpected turn toward the Orlando area and the Walt Disney World Resort experienced heavy wind and rains overnight.
The Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports all remain closed today, September 11.
However, they will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Disney is in the process of assessing damage and the Orlando area – including Disney World guests – are under a curfew until 6 p.m. today.

Welcome to another edition of our weekly news recap. Today we’re sending our thoughts to all our friends and readers in the path of Hurricane Irma.
