Celebrate Family with Sprinkles Cupcakes and DreamWorks Pictures’ ‘People Like Us’

Who wants free cupcakes?  Good!  Now that I have your attention, let me tell you how to get them.
DreamWorks Pictures has announced that they will be teaming up with Sprinkle Cupcakes to promote DreamWorks’ upcoming dramedy, People Like Us.  The movie, due in theatres June 29, chronicles the ups and downs of family relationships.  To celebrate, Sprinkle Cupcakes will be giving away free cupcakes on family themed holidays in May and June.

Disneynature’s ‘Chimpanzee’ Celebrates World Premiere, New Activity Sheets and Educational Materials Released

This weekend, a select number of special guests attended the world premiere of Chimpanzee, the newest film from Disneynature. The film, which centers on Oscar, a young chimpanzee who is separated from his family, only to be taken in and cared for by the alpha-male chimp Freddy, debuted on Friday at the AMC Theater in Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney before its theatrical premiere on April 20.

Disney World Free Dining for Fall 2012 Now Available to the General Public

While previously only available to Disney Visa Rewards Cardholders, the Disney Free Dining for Fall 2012 promotion has now been made available to the general public, as well.
In order to take advantage of this offer, you must book your room by May 18, 2012. The free dining program is available from August 25-September 29, 2012, and the free dining plans are based on where you stay. Most Disney resort rooms are included, but this promotion is very limited.

Disney Fantasy Christened by Godmother Mariah Carey in New York City

She has performed at Disney many times during her career, and now superstar and native New Yorker Mariah Carey adds another Disney title to her list:  godmother.
In a lavish, star-studded ceremony Thursday, Carey christened Disney’s latest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, which will begin voyages to the Caribbean later this month.

Epcot’s ‘Habit Heroes’ Exhibit Causes Controversy

A few weeks ago, Walt Disney World’s Epcot installed a new exhibit in Innoventions, a showcase of various exhibits designed to promote new ideas and technologies. The new exhibit, “Habit Heroes,” was a joint effort by Disney and Blue Cross and Blue Shield to combat childhood obesity through interactive games.

Full Schedule for Magic Kingdom’s ‘One More Disney Day’ Announced

To celebrate Leap Year, Magic Kingdom will be offering “One More Disney Day.” This means the park will open at 6 a.m. on February 29, and close March 1 at 6 a.m. The park will re-open on Thursday at 9 a.m. as scheduled. The full calendar of events can be seen below, including special hours for many of the attractions, restaurants and entertainment.

Selena Gomez Misses ‘Safety Net’ of Wizards of Waverly Place

Apparently, one of Hollywood’s hottest starlets truly enjoyed her stint as a Disney Darling.
In a recent interview, Gomez, whose hit Disney TV Show Wizards of Wavely Place aired its finale last month, said that wrapping the popular comedy series was one of the hardest things she’s ever done professionally.
After the last episode aired, which drew almost 10 million viewers in the U.S. on January 6, Gomez had the following to say:

Author Ridley Pearson Speaks to Students at Disney Homeschool Days

The Walt Disney World Resort just completed another Disney Homeschool Days event, during which author Ridley Pearson headlined events planned for homeschool students from around the country.
Pearson, author of both the Kingdom Keepers and Peter and the Starcatcher series of books for young adults, spoke to the crowd of about 800 students gathered at the Premiere Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
