As a lifelong Disney fan, and a frequent attender of Epcot’s annual International Food and Wine Festival, I thought I knew everything there was to know about the world’s largest food and wine fest.

Having just returned from a visit to Walt Disney World, I started thinking about our first few family visits, some 13 or 14 years ago, and how they were the genesis of what has become a shared family passion. Disney’s ESPN The Weekend Event Cancelled

Disney announced the disappointing news yesterday that the annual Walt Disney World event ESPN: The Weekend is no more. The event, which has been held annually at Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 2004, featured appearances by top athletes, ESPN telecasts, special events and activities for sports fans, and more. Despite the fact that the 2012 dates for ESPN The Weekend had already been announced for March 2-4, 2012, the event’s cancellation is effective immediately.

Disney Leadership Undergoes Major Structural Changes in the Wake of Al Weiss Departure

As he previously hinted, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs is taking the opportunity that Al Weiss’ retirement created to shake up the leadership at Disney Parks and Resorts.
When Weiss announced his retirement last month as the president of worldwide operations for Disney Parks and Resorts, Staggs stated that a new operation structure would be created in the next few weeks.  Now, we are starting to see what changes are coming, vis a vis the new structure.

Disney Parks to Increase Ticket Prices Beginning June 12

Planning an upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resorts? Consider buying your park tickets this weekend, as Disney Parks has announced that their ticket prices will be increasing. While the parks’ annual ticket increases have typically been announced later in the summer, the new ticket prices will go into effect this year on June 12.
With the new increase, a one-day Magic Your Way base ticket for the Walt Disney World Resort will increase from $82 to $85 (excluding tax), and a 1-Day 1-Park ticket for Disneyland will …

New Annie Leibovitz Disney Portraits feature Johnny Depp and Patti Smith

The latest portraits from Annie Leibovitz’s Disney Dream Portrait Series for Disney Parks feature Johnny Depp as his famous big-screen persona, Captain Jack Sparrow – a first in this collection! Patti Smith, performer, writer and artist, and personal friend of Depp’s, also appears in one portrait as the Second Pirate in Command.

The Beast’s Castle Coming to Magic Kingdom Park

For those Disney fans who have been eagerly following the details of Disney’s Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll be happy to know that a brand new castle is currently under construction – Beast’s castle from the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast!
We’re getting our first official pictures of Beast’s castle, which will sit on top of the brand-new eatery, the Be Our Guest Restaurant. The restaurant is expected to be a gorgeously themed dining experience. Guests will dine in the castle’s ballroom, gallery and the mysterious “west wing.”
