Randy Newman, Alan Menken, Mandy Moore, and Zachary Levi Set to Perform During Oscars

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Friday that perennial Randy Newman will be performing “We Belong Together” from Disney Pixar’s “Toy Story 3″ at this year’s Academy Awards Ceremony.  Also performing songs during the evening with be the team from “Tangled” – composer extraordinaire Alan Menken will accompany Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi (Rapunzel and Flynn, respectively) as they sing Oscar-nominated “I See the Light.”
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be shown live on ABC Television, Sunday, February 27 at 8 p.m. EST.

Disney Cruise Line Kicks Off Alaska Itinerary with ‘Kids Sail Free’ Offer

The Disney Wonder is rolling out a new promotion in hopes of getting its expansion into the Alaska cruise market off to a strong start.
In the new promotion, which is available for most dates between May 3 and June 7 – children sail for free when accompanied by two adults paying full fare.  The offer is good for bookings within the same cabin, and includes oceanview and verandah stateroom categories.  The offer pertains only to the Disney Wonder, which is currently sailing out of Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera, but will begin …

Chilean Miners Honored During Special Parade at Magic Kingdom

Just over a month ago, we told you that the Chilean miners, whose story inspired millions in 2010, would be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in January.  Since last week, the men, their rescuers, and their families have been enjoying the sights, sounds, tastes, and thrills of the Happiest Place on Earth.  Today, they received heroes’ welcomes and were honored with a special parade and celebration on Main Street U.S.A., where Main Street’s Mayor proclaimed this to be their special day.

Disney Wonder Sails into the Port of Los Angeles

The East Coast doesn’t have the corner on all the Disney Cruise News:  today, the Disney Wonder sailed into the Port of Los Angeles under sunny blue skies!
Disney fans on the other coast are in for a treat, as the Wonder will make its home out West for the foreseeable future.  Now through April 17, the wonder will sail seven-night voyages along the Mexican Riviera, calling on ports like Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.  As the weather warms up, the crew will see the ship safely northward, where she …

Video:  The Disney Dream – From the Ground Up in Thirty Seconds

In case you haven’t been able to figure it out, we here at DisZine – along with the rest of the Disney community – are super excited about the two new ships that the Cruise Line has commissioned:  the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy.

Disneyland Paris to Host Spy Camp in 2011

Kids ages 8-16 will get a chance to live out their James Bond fantasies - minus the hot car and bevy of beauties, of course – as Spy Camp comes to Disneyland Paris October 8, 2011.
Organized by the UK-based company, Spy Games Ltd, the camp will offer participants the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their favorite heroes of espionage, as they learn the secrets of the spy world from experienced trainers.
The camp is divided into a morning induction training session, while players will be involved in more advanced training in the afternoon.

‘Disney Channel Rocks’ Debuts at Disney California Adventure

The “World of Color”  fountains are now getting a workout during the day.  Over the holiday weekend, Disney California Adventure officially debuted its new show, “Disney Channel Rocks.”
The seventeen-minute show incorporates songs from some of Disney’s most popular tween- and teen-focused works, past and present, including ”Camp Rock,” and  ”High School Musical.”  Also in the show are songs from the TV shows “Shake It Up,” as well as “Hannah Montana,” and “Jonas Brothers.”

Wal Mart Offers Free Digital Copy of Toy Story 3

Wal Mart is making sure that fans who buy their copy of  “Toy Story 3″ in their stores have plenty of viewing options.
When fans of the Disney-Pixar animated hit purchase the three disc special edition from Wal Mart, they will also receive a free digital copy of the film via Vudu, a movie-streaming service, the companies announced yesterday.
