Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort

Which Disney resort are you heading to for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration?  In truth, it doesn’t really matter, because both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will be celebrating the luck o’ the Irish in a big, festive way!

If you are in the ‘World…

Head to Raglan Road at Downtown Disney.  The authentic Irish pub, which is under the direction of Master Chef Kevin Dundon will open its doors at 11 a.m., but the fun really gets underway at noon, with live music, fun and friendly competitions, dancing, and even face painting for the wee ones!   At 10 p.m., eLevation, a U2 tribute band, will play all of your favorites to commemorate this most Irish of days.  (There is a $10 cover charge.)

If you happen to be in Epcot, stop into the Rose & Crown Pub for a special shamrock-topped pint of Guiness (we bet it tastes TWICE as good!)

Fulton’s Crab House at Downtown Disney will also feature a special St. Patty’s Day prix fixe menu, which will include a starter of Irish Potato Leek Soup, with Sliced Corned Beef and Cabbage, Red Wine marinated roasted shallot, and roasted parsnips and carrots to follow – of course, green beer.

Or if you’re hanging in the ‘Land…

Get ready to tap your toes to the wonderful music of the Irish folk band, Shillelagh.  We dare you to try and stand still when they take the stage!  The band will play traditional Irish folk tunes, complete with accordion and fiddle, on the District’s main stage, located at the ESPN Zone.

More of a drinker than a dancer?  Then head to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, House of Blues, Catal, Tortilla Joe’s, or La Brea Bakery for a wide array of holiday libations.  There’s something for everyone, from Irish whiskey to fun martinis, to the ubiquitous green beer.  Uva Bar will also be featuring a special menu to celebrate the occasion, along with drink specials.

Children can get into the act as well, with the Downtown Pot o’ Gold treasure hunt.  They’ll be on the hunt for special clover hidden throughout the District, which will earn them special prizes.  Build-a-Bear workshop and the LEGO Store will also feature special activities for the wee ones, in addition to seasonal merchandise.  You can also head to Kaman’s Art Shoppe for special face painting and henna tattoos for kids and grownups alike!

Lots of special drinks and merchandise are available throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.  So come out and celebrate being Irish on the day when the whole world is!  Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
