Demi Lovato Enters Rehab Facility

Demi Lovato, star of the Disney sitcom “Sonny with a Chance,” has voluntarily checked herself into a treatment center to address “emotional and physical issues,” according to the young entertainer’s representatives.

The eighteen year-old, who has also released several records, had been a special guest on the Jonas Brothers’ international tour before she left over the weekend to enter an undisclosed facility.

The statement released from her representatives did not specify state what issues Lovato was seeking to address, but they did ask that Lovato be allowed to deal with the situation privately.  “Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help,” the statement said. “She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media respect her privacy during this difficult time.”

Reports surfaced from an anonymous source that Lovato entered treatment for an eating disorder and cutting issues.  However, the person, who was not authorized to speak publicly, later clarified the statement, saying that Lovato had dealt with those issues in the past.

Lovato, who has also starred in Disney’s “Camp Rock” movies and is considered one of Disney’s brightest stars, regrets not finishing the tour, according to her representatives, but “is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future.”
