Disney Acquires Korean Game Designer

The Walt Disney Company has recently acquired Studio Ex, a South Korean game developer, a game company that focuses primarily on free multi-player online and mobile games.

Studio Ex has yet to actually release any titles, however, leading media sources to speculate Disney’s acquisition is merely a way to grab talent – specifically, David Moon. Moon is the former director of NHN, a large gaming hub in the region.

While financial details were not disclosed, Disney did confirm the acquisition in a statement to the press: “Through a stock purchase agreement, Studio Ex is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company reporting into Disney Interactive.”
