Disney and Hot Topic to Host ‘Pirates Day’ Events to Celebrate ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’

To celebrate the May 20 release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Walt Disney Studios, in conjunction with Hot Topic, will be hosting special “Pirates Day” events for fans of the franchise.

The fan events, which will take place at the flagship Hot Topic in Hollywood, CA as well as the Garden State Plaza Hot Topic in Paramus, N.J., will be filled with plenty of fun and pirate-themed celebrations, including an advanced 3D screening of the upcoming film!

The Hollywood event, which begins at 4 p.m. May 14, will feature plenty of pirate-themed fun, including the hull of a giant pirate ship crashing into the main courtyard outside the Hot Topic store, as well as plenty of giveaways, special photo opportunities, live pirate performers, toy demo stations and more. Additionally, there will be a chance for eager fans to see real props and costumes that were used in the film.

Attendees can also come dressed in their pirate best for a chance to enter the Ultimate Fan Contest and win amazing prizes, as well as secure VIP seating to the Pirates premiere at the El Capitan Theatre.

For East Coast fans, the Paramus, N.J. Hot Topic event will take place on May 14 at 1 p.m., and will feature just as much fun as the West Coast event in Hollywood. Come check out the entertainment, nab a photo opportunity and see a giant ship-in-a-bottle that was installed adjacent to the Hot Topic store. This event will also feature a contest for those who comes dressed in their best pirate costumes, which can net you some pretty fantastic prizes and a VIP seat to the screening of the film, which will be presented in IMAX 3D.

The “Pirates Day” events are just one part of the takeover of Hot Topic stores nationwide, which are being designed to become a leading retailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides apparel, jewelry and accessories.
