Disney and Union Agree to Temporary Contract Extension

9 December 2010 No Comment

Disney and its largest labor union have agreed to a temporary contract extension.  The current contract, due to expire Saturday, December 11, will now be extended through January 20.

While the parties remain at a standstill in negotiations over a new contract, the news is a welcome announcement for employees and holiday guests alike, as Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for the Florida resort.  The increasing business has made further negotiation at present difficult.

No word on when negotiations, which have been ongoing since this past summer, will resume.
