Disney Announces Star Wars News, Resort Hotel Updates, and More at Destination D

Over the weekend Disney hosted the D23 Destination D event and announced a slate of new experiences, attraction updates, and more.

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens next year at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests will be able to experience two new attractions: Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Check out videos of the new attractions here.

There are new hotels planned (or being built right now) at Disney World, and we learned the name for the new Deluxe Resort planned for the area between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. The hotel will be called Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge and will be a “nature-inspired” resort.

Epcot will get two new nighttime spectaculars – one will be a limited-time experience called “Epcot Forever,” which will debut in fall 2019 and will feature classic Epcot tunes. The other will start in 2020 and “will celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world, and will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers.”

We also learned the name of the Remy-themed attraction coming to Epcot’s France Pavilion – it’ll be called Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

The France Pavilion will also be home to a new Beauty and the Beast sing-along created by Don Hahn, the producer of the animated and-live action films.

New experiences are coming to the Disney Parks in 2019 including: a nighttime spectacular, the Wonderful World of Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the park’s 30th anniversary; the return of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade to Disneyland; and more.
