Disney Channel Launches New Short Form Series ‘The Coppertop Flop Show’

If you ever wanted to know how to rule the beach while “rocking socks and sandals” you need to check out Disney Channel’s newest short form video series The Coppertop Flop Show.

The series follows Calum Worthy – who stars as Dez on Austin & Ally – as he gives viewers his unique take on the world. Episodes include his love of meatball, epic “bro battles”, and the previously mentioned “socks and sandals” episode.

The shorts – which are 1-2 minutes long – are premiering weekly on DisneyChannel.com/Coppertop on Friday mornings, and then they will be broadcast on Disney Channel the following Friday night. Fans can view the first two episodes – “King of the Beach” and “Food Enthusiast” now.

“Our audience loves short form video and this series with Calum, who is so talented and naturally funny, is a great fit for them,” said Lauren DeVillier, vice president, digital media, Disney Channels Worldwide. “I think kids will really respond to his humor and unique point of view.”

The short form series is filmed with a skeleton script and small crew in order to allow Worthy’s humor to emerge naturally.
