Disney Channel Teams with the American Red Cross to Help Families Prepare for Emergencies

coloringbookSeptember is National Preparedness Month and Disney Channel has once again teamed with the American Red Cross to share vital information with families.

Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce stars in a new disaster-preparedness video that is currently airing on Disney Channel. The video was created to help teach kids and their families the importance of being “emergency ready.”

The video can also be found on the Disney Friends for Change website, and families can also download the Mickey and Friends Disaster Preparedness Activity Book.

Disney and the Red Cross have also expanded The Pillowcase Project where instructors teach kids safety actions including creating a family emergency plan and kit. The kit is packed with essential items and kept in a pillowcase for easy transport in the case of an emergency.

Disney is also funding a new Red Cross app for kids that will be available at for Apple and Android devices in November.
