Disney Channel’s ‘Jessie’ to Debut September 30

Looking forward to the new Disney Channel series Jessie? Well, you won’t have to wait much longer. Disney has announced that the series will officially make its Disney Channel debut on September 30, 2011 at 9:00 PM/8 central.

The series, which stars new Disney ‘It’ Girl Debby Ryan, takes place in Manhattan, where Ryan’s character Jessie arrives to leave behind her Texas roots and start a new life. Taking up residence as a nanny for a family with four children, the kids and Debby’s new friends help her adjust to life in the big city. Debby Ryan is most well-known for her role as Bailey on the Disney Channel series Suite Life on Deck.

Ryan is excited to portray her real age in the series, and says about the show:

“It hasn’t been addressed that this is who we are once we’re 18 and set loose upon the world and it’s exciting for me to be paving new ground with Jessie.

The series will also star Tony Award-nominated actor Kevin Chamberlin (Broadway’s The Addams Family, Seussical) as Bertram; Peyton List (27 Dresses, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules) as Emma; Karan Brar (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules) as Ravi; Cameron Boyce (Grown Ups) as Luke and Skai Jackson (Royal Pains) as Zuri.
