Disney Channel’s Premiere of ‘Sofia the First: The Floating Palace’ Takes Number One Spot for Evening Preschool Telecast

Last weekend’s Disney Channel premiere of Sofia the First: The Floating Palace was a huge hit for the network.

The show – which featured a special appearance by Disney’s The Little Mermaid – had 4.7 million total viewers. This makes it the number one evening preschool telecast for the year to date and the number one evening telecast across all television for kids ages 2-5.

The special episode of the hit series was also the number one evening preschool telecast among boys ages 2-5, kids ages 2-11, adults ages 18-49, and women ages 18-49.

Sofia the First: The Floating Palace can also lay claim to the title of Disney Channel’s number five telecast of all time for girls 2-5. It was also Sofia’s second most-watched episode to date, coming in behind last year’s prequel movie Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess.

That special prequel movie still ranks as the number one cable TV telecast of all time for kids 2-5 and girls ages 2-5.

Fans can catch Sofia the First: The Floating Palace tonight (November 28) at 7 p.m. on the 24-hour Disney Junior channel.
