Disney Consumer Products Announces ‘Big Hero 6’ Merchandise Release

big hero sixDisney’s latest animated film – Big Hero 6 – opens in theaters November 7 and there is an assortment of new toys and other merchandise arriving in stores.

Licensees including Bandai, Freeze, GDC, and Jay Franco have worked with Disney Consumer Products on new merchandise tied to the film. Products were also developed for the Disney Store and Disney Publishing Worldwide, including action figures, plush toys, apparel, home décor, and books.

Baymax is the star of the new product lines with items including action figures, plush toys, and tech accessories.

“Disney Consumer Products and our licensees have collaborated to create a toy line that brings Big Hero 6‘s action-packed storyline and diverse cast of characters to life,” said Josh Silverman, executive vice president of global licensing, Disney Consumer Products. “Our Big Hero 6 product line features sharp color schemes and bold, stylized design trends to capture the essence of San Fransokyo and its dynamic heroes.”

DisneyStore.com is offering a “Create Your Own” shop where fans can personalize items including tech accessories, school supplies, apparel, and even party invitations.

Disney licensee Threadless is also hosting a contest that runs through November 17 where fans can design an original T-shirt that is inspired by Hiro, Baymax, and the Big Hero 6 team. The contest winner will receive a prize package that includes $2,000 cash, a $500 Threadless gift card, and a hand-drawn and framed Big Hero 6 piece of art created by a Disney character artist.
