Disney Cruise Line Announces New Alaskan Port Adventures for 2015

dcl alaskaDisney Cruise Line has recently announced a new slate of port adventures for its Alaska sailings during the summer of 2015.

The Family Gold Exploration and Mendenhall Glacier and Mine Ruin Exploration are slated for the port of call in Juneau. Guests will have a chance to trek to an eccentric miner’s camp for stories around the campfire.

They’ll also have a chance to explore the Treadwell Mining District on the Family Gold Exploration.

If guests want to pan for gold and garnets they can at the Alaska Gastineau Gold Mine and families can also visit an abandoned mine at the Maggie Kathleen Tunnel.

Another exclusive port adventure is the Klondike Campfire Breakfast which happens at the Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp. After breakfast guests can pan for gold.

Port adventures in Skagway include the Klondike Family Challenge which features panning for gold, meeting sled racing dogs, and touring the Klondike Gold Fields brewery. Another Skagway adventure happens at the White Pass Summit where guests can trace the steps of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush.

Guests can also take a tour of downtown Skagway and end the day with a champagne toast at the Red Onion Saloon.

The Disney Wonder is sailing 14 seven-night cruises from Vancouver to Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, Alaska starting June 1.
