Disney Magic Cruise Ship Rescues 18 People Lost at Sea

9 August 2010 No Comment

Disney brought a true happy ending to life this Friday when the Disney Magic, part of the Disney Cruise Line, rescued 18 Algerians lost at sea in the Mediterranean. The Algerians, who were rescued while the ship was sailing between Gibraltar and Barcelona, had reportedly been stranded in the water for four to five days. Disney spokeswoman Rena Langley comments:

“The shipboard team heard crew members from two other vessels talking on the radio about sighting the boat and then losing a visual of it, so the Disney Magic then joined the search and quickly spotted the small boat, which had lost power.”

The rescued Algerians were taken aboard the ship and provided with food and cabins.
