Disney Named America’s Most Reputable Company

This week, it was announced that The Walt Disney Company has earned the distinction of being named America’s Most Reputable Company, as reported by Forbes. The honor was determined through an independent study done by the private consulting firm Reputation Institute.

Disney came out on top in the online study, which was designed to determine consumer perception of 150 of the largest companies through measuring the perception of each organization’s products/services, innovation, workplace, citizenship, governance, leadership, and performance. After being ranked 17th in the study in 2012, The Walt Disney Company outranked such companies as Google, Amazon.com, and the Coca-Cola Company to earn this year’s number one spot.

In response to the ranking, a Disney spokesperson commented to Forbes:

“As one of the world’s best known companies, we continually strive to earn the respect of our consumers, our employees and our shareholders not only for what we achieve, but for how we do it. A great reputation is a reflection of the quality and integrity of a company’s people and products and we are extremely proud of both.”
