disneyland 1After the success of the #ShareYourEars campaign, Disney Parks announced that it increased its original $1 million donation to Make-A-Wish to $2 million.

For the #ShareYourEars campaign fans were encouraged to share images of themselves wearing Mickey ears and use the hashtag for the campaign when the photos were shared on social media.

In response to the success of the campaign, Bob Chapek, chairman of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts said, “We’re thrilled that so many of our guests, fans, and cast members supported Make-A-Wish by sharing their ears and joining Walt Disney Parks and Resorts in making even more children’s wishes come true.”

Disney and Make-A-Wish have been granting wishes for 35 years to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Each year almost 8,000 Disney-related wishes are granted around the world.
