Disney Signs Deal with J.C. Penney to Open Children’s Boutiques In Stores

Sources have reported that Disney has signed a deal with J.C. Penney Co. to open children’s boutiques in their stores.

While many big-name retailers – including J.C. Penney – already sell licensed Disney products, the new boutiques will feature merchandise designed by Disney Consumer Products that will be exclusive to J.C. Penney and Disney’s own stores and theme parks.

The boutiques will offer plush toys, costumes, footwear, sleepwear, figurines, underwear, backpacks, lunch totes and apparel for boys, girls and babies. In addition to the retail space, the merchandise will also be sold online.

The new boutiques are expected to open in more than 520 J.C. Penney stores next fall, just in time for back-to-school season.
