Disney Store Preparing for Force Friday Event on Friday, September 4

star wars force awakesThis Friday, September 4, is being called ‘Force Friday’ as retailers around the world prepare to start selling merchandise from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Disney Store locations in New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco will open at 12:01 a.m. local time on September4 to give fans the chance to purchase new toys, collectibles, and more from the film.

The first 1,000 guests will also receive a free Star Wars: The Force Awakens D23 commemorative poster.

The Disney Store location on Michigan Avenue in Chicago is also one of the locations for the global unboxing event happening on Thursday, September 3. At 8:30 a.m CT new products will be unveiled during a live broadcast on HobbyKidsTV, a YouTube channel that is part of the Maker Studios network.

On Force Friday all Disney Store locations will open with Star Wars-themed ceremonies. Other events include: a free commemorative Star Wars: The Force Awakens pin for the first 100 guests who make a Force Friday purchase, an R2-D2 craft, Star Wars Story Time, and more.

Shoppers at DisneyStore.com will receive free shipping on all Star Wars items from September 4-6.
