Disney VoluntEARS & Others Construct Playground for Local Florida Kids

On Saturday, July 28, 150 Disney Cruise Line VoluntEARS joined other local volunteers to help build a playground for local kids in Rockledge, FL.

The playground was constructed at Anderson Park and is part of Disney’s $3.5 million contribution to KaBOOM!. Volunteers arrived at the park at before 6:30 a.m., and proceeded to move 135 cubic yards of mulch and mix 280 80-pound bags of concrete in order to construct the new playground.

While Disney provided the majority of funding for the project, the city of Rockledge and the Rockledge Recreation, Open-Space and Conservation Foundation provided the remaining 10 percent.
