Disneyland Paris CEO Talks Future Plans for the Theme Park

Phillipe Gas, the CEO of Euro Disney S.C.A., talked candidly about some of the upcoming projects Disneyland Paris has in the pipeline.

One of the major announcements centered around a multi-year park expansion that’s planned, starting with the opening of a new attraction in 2014. Not much was said about this new attraction, but Gas did say that it would be French themed and a “world first” ride.

Other plans for the theme park include consideration of a Toy Story interactive attraction. The Toy Story Playland area that opened in 2010 met with great success, so a new themed attraction based on the popular Disney/Pixar film franchise would likely do just as well.

Additional plans include replacing the current Star Tours attraction with the updated Star Tours 2: The Adventure Continues. In 2013, Disneyland Paris will be the only theme park that still has the original attraction; all other Disney parks have updated the famous ride. Disneyland Paris will also be adding a new meet-and-greet location dubbed Meet Mickey, as well as the World of Disney store in Disney Village.

Stay tuned for more details on these exciting expansion plans as the months progress!
