Disneyland Resort Celebrates the Season with New Holiday Surprises and Returning Favorites

Disneyland Resort is gearing up for the holiday season, with official celebrations beginning November 14. This year, a few new additions have been included as well as the return of many guest favorites.

A new cartoon-style Christmas tree has been added to Mickey’s Toontown for the 2011 holiday season, as well as a new segment to the nightly “The Magic, The Memories and You!” show, seen on the facade of it’s a small world. The new segment, created specifically for the holiday season, will feature a variety of holiday tunes and photographs of resort guests celebrating the season. Additionally, the presentation will transform it’s a small world into frozen ice, decorated with candy canes, wreaths and wrapping paper and even turn the attraction into a giant snow globe! Guests can catch this new segment beginning November 18.

Returning favorites to Disneyland Park will include the popular “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade, as well as holiday versions of both it’s a small world and The Haunted Mansion. The nightly snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A. will also be returning as will the giant 60-foot Christmas tree, twinkling with over 62,000 LED lights. Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle will be dripping in icicles and snowdrifts, and the popular “Believe… in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular will also be returning to Disneyland Park.

The adjacent Disney California Adventure Park will be getting into the holiday spirit as well with park-wide holiday decorations and a holiday version of “Phineas and Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party.” Additionally, a new segment to the nightly “World of Color” water show feature Lanny and Wayne, Santa’s elves from the Prep & Landing holiday specials.
