disneyland 60Disneyland Resort has been celebrating its 60th anniversary all year and the party is going to keep going!

Disney recently announced the the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration will continue until September 5, 2016. So this means if you didn’t make it out to the West Coast this year you have another whole year to celebrate!

Disneyland will continue the Diamond Celebration with the all-new Paint the Night Parade, Disneyland Forever fireworks, and the updated World of Color – Celebrate.

Guests will also be able to enjoy the special merchandise and food items that have been part of the 60th anniversary celebration so far.

This fall, guests visiting the Disneyland Resort during the Halloween season will be able to experience the Paint the Night parade during Mickey’s Halloween Party. And on non-party nights guests will still have a chance to experience Paint the Night and the Disneyland Forever fireworks as part of Halloweentime.

One of my favorite additions to Disneyland for their 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration is the new photo opportunities found throughout the theme parks. Look for 6 giant dioramas in total (3 in each park) that offer amazing one of a kind photos. My favorite thus far has been a diorama by the Matterhorn that lets you look like you’re climbing the mountain. Disney has also set up a large number of anniversary-themed coin press machines throughout the resort, giving you the chance to walk away with a little diamond anniversary souvenir (a coin pressed with a unique Disneyland image on it) for under a dollar. Secret: Free maps to locate all of these coin press machines are available at City Hall on Main Street USA. – John Glass (author, 100 Things You Don’t Want to Miss at Disneyland 2015; facebook.com/100Disneyland )
