Disneyland Set to Celebrate the Year of the Horse at the Happy Lunar New Year Celebration

Disneyland is ready to ring in the Lunar New Year with a celebration at Disney California Adventure.

This year is the Year of the Horse and the celebration at Disney California Adventure begins January 31 and runs through February 2.

Each day during the celebration Paradise Gardens will be the epicenter of the celebration of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures and traditions.

As guests walk along the walkways they’ll be able to marvel at the ornamental lanterns that are woven into the walls. There will also be banners in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese wishing guests a Happy Lunar New Year.

A Chinese dragon dance troupe, lion dancers, and Vietnamese and Korean dance groups will be joining Disney characters in Paradise Gardens as part of the celebration. Guests will also have a chance to make their own paper lanterns and discover their Zodiac animal.

Merchandise for this year’s event includes a commemorative Happy Lunar New Year T-shirt featuring the artwork for the celebration.
