Disneyland’s Main Street Under Construction Through Spring

If you’re heading to Disneyland Resort anytime soon, be prepared to see a lot of construction walls.  In addition to the major overhaul taking place at Disney’s California Adventure, Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A. will also be undergoing routine maintenance.

Guests will be zig-zagging their way around construction walls for at least the next two months, as crews work on Main Street’s cement.  While the work will take place mostly at night, the walls extend nearly the length of Main Street, from the park’s entrance, almost to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

During the project, the familiar buses and streetcars will not be running.  The work has also placed parades on hiatus for the time being.  While such work normally takes place every three to five years, according to David Gill, a Disneyland spokesperson, the last time similar work was done to the 55 year-old park was in 2009.
