Disney’s Aulani Spa Given New Name

Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa that will open this fall in Hawaii, has given the spa a new name – Laniwai, which translates to mean “freshwater heaven.”

The new name came about as a direct result of the Hawaii connection and reverence to nature, and the name itself actually celebrates the cultural significance of rainbows, which symbolize joy, life, greenery, growth and good fortune.

In the video below, Lucia Rodriguez, Spa Director of Aulani, describes the experience visitors can expect to have when they enter Laniwai Spa.

As Rodriguez notes in the video, the spa will be offer a “rainbow” of experiences for singles, couples and families alike. Even teenagers can enjoy the unique amenities of Laniwai, with Painted Sky, a teen spa that incorporates a yogurt bar, mixology station, and computer access.
