Disney’s Club Penguin Launches iPhone App ‘Puffle Launch’

16 September 2011 One Comment

Touted as the #1 virtual world for kids, Disney’s Club Penguin goes mobile with the launch of its first iOS app Puffle Launch. The game originally debuted on Club Penguin in 2010 and became an instant hit, with more than 150,000 kids playing the game every day. Now, the app features the same game action where players are tasked with blasting pet Puffles through a number of challenging levels.

Lane Merrifield, co-founder and executive vice president of Disney Online Studios says:

Kids are going mobile and have been asking for Club Penguin to go there with them. Disney pioneered virtual worlds and social gaming for kids, and now we want to enable kids to connect with their friends and our worlds on the go. This is only the beginning for Club Penguin on mobile and we have some really exciting plans that will unfold over the next year.

The game will feature 24 levels of engaging play, including challenging boss levels, easy to use controls and the opportunity to earn virtual coins which can be transferred to a users account on clubpenguin.com.

The Puffle Launch app is available for $0.99 from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, or via www.itunes.com/appstore.

This app is a lot of fun, and reminds me of “Cut the Rope”. I’ve only had the app a couple days, and I’m already addicted!
