Disney’s ‘Dumbo’ Coming Out of the Vault on DVD and Blu-ray

Disney’s classic film Dumbo will be coming out of the vault on both DVD and Blu-ray September 20, 2011, and will feature plenty of new extras as well as an all-new digital restoration and Disney Enhanced High Definition Theatre Mix Sound.

The bonus features that will be included with the re-release are:

  • A deleted scene entitled “The Mouse’s Tale.”
  • A deleted song, called “Are You a Man or a Mouse?”
  • Taking Flight: The Making of Dumbo, which will chronicle the origins of the film from start to finish.
  • The Magic of Dumbo: A Ride of Passage, which will allow viewers to experience the classic Disney attraction beloved by children for many years.
  • Audio commentary from Pete Docter, Paula Sigman, and Andreas Deja
  • A Sound Design Excerpt from The Reluctant Dragon
  • The Original Walt Disney Television introduction

In addition to these features, the Blu-ray version will include several additional extras exclusive to the format, including Cine-Explore and Disney View; two Dumbo games entitled “What Do You See?” and “What Do You Know?” as well as a “Celebrating Dumbo” featurette and two animated shorts entitled “The Flying Mouse” and “Elmer Elephant.”

Dumbowill retail for $29.99 for the DVD version and $39.99 for the Blu-ray/DVD combo.
