Edgar Wright in Talks to Direct Disney’s ‘Night Stalker’

On Wednesday, Disney confirmed that Edgar Wright, who previously worked on the films Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz is in talks to direct the company’s The Night Stalker.

The Night Stalker is originally based on Jeff Rice’s novel The Kolchak Papers, and was also a 1970′s television series starring Darren McGavin. The film follows the story of reporter Carl Kolchak, who ends up investigating supernatural occurrences.

Johnny Depp is slated for the starring role in the film, and will also serve as co-producer along with Christi Dembrowski.
