Epcot’s ‘Captain EO’ to Close Forever on December 6 Making Way for New Pixar Experience

captain eoThis time they mean it.

Captain EO, the long-running (and long-suffering) film starring Michael Jackson as the title character is finally closing at Epcot. For good this time.

The last time Captain EO “closed” was to make way for an Inside Out preview in May. Prior to that the Magic Eye Theater was being used for a sneak peek at Tomorrowland starring George Clooney.

But this time Captain EO is really going away to make room for a new experience – Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival.

This 4D experience will give guests a look behind the scenes of popular animated films. The new experience will also give guests the chance to enter the world of three animated shorts.

The final showing of Captain EO will take place on December 6 – mark your calendars if you need to see the film one last time.
