ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’ Reaches 50,000th Episode

For over 30 years, SportsCenter has been the flagship program of ESPN, delivering sports news and highlights to millions of fans each day. This week, the program celebrated its 50,000th episode, more episodes than any other program in television history.

SportsCenter aired its first episode with the launch of ESPN on September 7, 1979. The show, which now airs several times each day, reaches millions of viewers, with 60% of the men in the United States tuning in to the program each month across the ESPN networks.
