Fatal Crash at the Exotic Driving Experience at Walt Disney World Speedway Claims Life of Driving Instructor

Walt Disney World SpeedwayA 36-year-old driving instructor at the Exotic Driving Experience at the Walt Disney World Speedway was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon.

Gary Terry, a longtime team member and the Senior Operations Manager for the Exotic Driving Experience was a passenger in a Lamborghini driven by guests Tavon Watson.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol Watson, 24, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. Watson suffered minor injuries and Terry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both men were wearing seatbelts.

The Exotic Driving Experience is part of the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Walt Disney World Speedway.

The federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) is investigating the accident. The Richard Petty Driving Experience and Exotic Driving Experience will be closed for at least a week.

The Walt Disney World Speedway is closing permanently in August so that Disney can make “transportation improvements.”
