First-ever ‘Á La Mode’ Costume Contest Planned for D23 Expo

This year’s D23 Expo will be celebrating fans’ enthusiasm for dressing up as their favorite Disney characters in a whole new way – with the first À La Mode Costume Contest.

The contest – named after Edna Mode from The Incredibles – will shows fans’ creativity through costumes inspired by Disney. The categories include Motion Pictures (Animation, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm), Parks and Recreation, Consumer Products, Media Networks (including ABC, Disney Channel, and ESPN), and Interactive.

Five trophies designed specifically for the contest will be awarded to the most magical and creative costumes in the following categories: Original Design (or inspired by…), Re-creation, Craftsmanship, Young Fan, and Best in Show.

Those attending D23 who want to participate in the contest must complete an entry from at D23Expo.com before July 21. The number of entrants is limited as this is a timed contest. Applicants will be chosen to participate based on quality and quantity and will be selected at the discretion of producers.

The D23 Expo takes place August 9-11 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Tickets for the D23 Expo are $57 for a one-day adult admission and $47 for children 3-12.
