24 June 2011 No Comment

Heading to see Cars 2 in theaters this weekend? Audience members at 3D screenings of the film, which opens today in theaters, will have an extra treat. Prior to the film, the first four minutes of The Lion King in 3D will be shown, giving audiences a taste of what to expect when the film’s 3D release debuts in theaters later this year. With this special preview, which will be joined by the teaser trailer for Disney/Pixar’s Brave and the Toy Story short “Hawaiian Vacation,” there’s a lot to look forward to even before the film begins!

The Lion King‘s release in Disney Digital 3D will premiere in movie theaters on September 16, 2011, where it will run for a “two-week theatrical extravaganza.” The film will kick off its highly anticipated home entertainment release on October 4, when the “Diamond Edition” of The Lion King will be released in Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray 3D.
